'm dave clark. >> and i'm pam cook. thank you for joining us this morning. steve paulson is here. definitely cold. freeze warning all day? >> it's cold enough. no doubt about it. another day we could get up pop up showers again. little system coming into the northern part of the state. you can see that. again it favors areas to the west. upper 40s and low 50s. >>> good morning. we're looking at a live picture of eastbound interstate 80 where the lanes are clear here on 80. but a little after 3:00 this morning was much different story. a car hit the center divider near the ashby avenue exit and spun out. it was broadsided by an on coming car. two other cars were tangled up in the crash. the driver of the first car was a man. we're waiting to hear the extent of his injuries. one thing we do know it took awhile for this to clear up. more than an hour. the car was badly damaged. finally they opened up the lanes just after 4:35 this morning. and the traffic has completely recovered. stay with ktvu we'll find out more about this crash. let's go back to the desk. >>> we are following de

jose northbound 101 on 285 that traffic is moving well. let's go to steve. >>> we have livermore, napa, san jose, already reporting morning clouds and it is a dry forecast and turning colder. late wednesday night into thursday, it does not brooks laich a wet pattern. temperatures drops to the dew point and that is getting thicker and thicker and it should start to burn off. a lot of these high clouds are spilling over and most of the energy is staying to the north. i have seen a lot of temperatures around antioch and brentwood anywhere from 38 to 47 so take your pick. the city has 44 but there is fog reported in san francisco and there is fog all over the place and we will have to deal with that. there is a little bit of light snow near the oregon border but dashboarder but for us, more so tomorrow and then we will go right down and big time cooling comes in on friday. a bit of a damp cold and most locations will stay calm. 50s on the temperatures a few mid-to-upper 60s to morgan hill gilroy and it will be warmer on tuesday and we start to see mid- week transition, and we could see a f
a difference a week makes. this morning, it's about a 15, 20-minute delay. let's go to steve. >>> thank you, sal a lot of fog around there. higher clouds coming in. a beautiful sunrise. but the higher clouds are all we'll see out of this system mainly staying to the north. there's thick fog being reported in the bay. morning fog, higher clouds. a little warmer tomorrow. it's a dry forecast and then on wednesday into thursday turning colder, much colder thursday,/friday as we get a stronger system coming in. we'll have a lot of cold air coming in thursday/friday. the recent rain has moved off into southern california. and then out of the area. but the overnight temperatures and the dew point coming together and that gives us thick fog. that will be with us today and tonight. these higher clouds, coming down around the southern edge of the system which has been spilling over. so we get the higher clouds. patchy, thick fog in the morning. 30s and 40s. higher clouds in the afternoon. 54 to 62. most locations, 30ss, 40s. novato is sweeping in. i did see a 39 there. fairview is 34, 34 livermore.

the world -- or from the u.s., to help control them. abc's steve osunsami has more. steve, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, amy. wildlife officials tell us the problem just isn't in the everglades. they're now seeing these large snakes in parks, in people's holmes. and they're hoping this hunt will help. florida authorities are desperate to get rid of these snakes, calling this a snake hunting mission. no experience necessary. no licensed needed. just a gun or a knife. by some estimates, nearly 150,000 pythons are living in the everglades alone. but the snakes haven't stopped there. >> they're starting to come back into civilization, looking for easy food, our pets. that's typically what they're feeding on. cats, small dogs. >> reporter: state wrangler scott mullen says families are now finding them in parks, high grass and even backyards. and he's been busy making house calls. >> when people call about a python, it's a totally different sound on the phone. you can hear it in their voice. they're very excited, very nervous. >> reporter: pythons are native to southeast asia. but
